*peeks out like Horatio in icon*

So, I'm kinda bad with this update thing. And it's horrible because I think of stuff I want to write about but get too lazy when it comes down to it. Shorty: Christmas was great, received nice things. New Year's Eve was lame. Read: Spent it alone.

Over break from classes I read a lot and saw lots of movies.

Books read:
The Other Boleyn Girl by Philipa Gregory
Die Leiden des Jungen Werther (The Sorrows of Young Werther) by Goethe (HOMG SO GOOD)
Lots of Rilke poems/prose
A Series of Unfortunate Events-The End by Lemony Snicket (disappointing)
Almost done with a wonderful fictional account of the love of Robert and Clara Schumann.

*looks over list* Me? Like German lit/history much? Naaaah.

Movies seen:
The Nativity Story--Very pretty. Very good, even if the chick playing Mary gave a flat and boring performance. Feel in love with St. Joseph.
The Good Shepherd--Eh, all right. Damon was good but the story was too long and dragged. Not suspenseful like I had hoped.
Night at the Museum--Very funny! Yes, it's a kid's movies, but it was cute and had history geek stuff in it and you just can't go wrong if a film has Dick Van Dyke. <3
Marie Antoinette--Booooooooring. It was gorgeous to look at, I'll give it that. But I just felt like I kept waiting for something to happen and IT NEVER DID. Also, i don't think anyone said more than 2 sentences in succession.
Apocalypto--VERY good. Don't let the PC critics steer you away (any person who goes to a theater expecting to see true history exactly right shouldn't be seeing movies in the first place). If nothing else, go see it for the tense storyline, the gorgeous scenery, and incredibly detailed and beautiful costumes. I loved it.
Copying Beethoven--Another booooooring film. And so stupid. I mean, the story is just completely implausible and it feels like it's something out of a bad romance novel.
Little Miss Sunshine--Yeah, it's all been said. But it was cute and funny and touching and I have much love for it.
Perfume: The Story of a Murderer--I LOVED this. It was gorgeous and thoughtful and creepy and just so so good. And hello? IT HAS ALAN RICKMAN IN IT. I was HOMG so flaily because he has a daughter that shares my name so I got to hear him call my name. Lots. *swoons*
Yossi and Jagger--Foreign gay film. Short (1 hour) and I wanted to love it. But it was just 'eh'. Didn't feel connected to the characters. Only one scene of pretty boys kissing.

I think that's it?

Classes start back up tomorrow. I am not excited about this, of course. Courses this semester:
German 202
History-Caesar and Christ (I have noooo idea what this will be about but it was required)
Psychology--Human Sexuality (fulfilling needed requirements. And I've heard the prof who teaches this is smokin' hot. And he'll be talking about sex. *thumbs up*)
Psychology--Abnormal Behavior (mwuhahaha I'll fit right in. Again, fulfilling requirement)
Earth Environments with lab--(*stabs self in eye* Requirement? YOU BET. You think I take this shit by choice?)
Prep course for study abroad!!!!!!! *dances*

And I'm so amused by the Abnormal Behavior class. Not understanding why I'd want to hang out with 'guys like them', the guys in my Civil War reenactment group always joke that I'm not really a music/history major. They think I'm a psychology student writing my thesis or doctorate or something and using them as my subjects. Just wait until I tell them about this class. *laughs evilly*

I am, however, excited by the fact that mistress_demona and I will be going to Spin class at the student Rec center two times a week! *high fives her work out buddy* I will also be starting the Paleo diet tomorrow. I've been doing some research on it and it sounds great and doable. And it's not really a 'diet', more a way of life. If anyone would like to diet buddy, let me know.

Also. I really wanted to write some Hornblower fic over break but lacked any ideas. Any one have suggestions that I can write on before I get too busy with classes? I wanted to write Bush/Hammond in the hold, but couldn't quite come up with a scenario. I was also feeling like some HH/AK. Ideas? Suggestions? Bueller?

*stops blabbering on*
