Writer's Block: The Meaning of Love
My feelings and beliefs about love have changed throughout my life. Mostly now what I believe is a collection of things that I have heard
from friends, family, and observed in various relationships between people.
Love, to me, is the meaning of life.
If you love somone, you put his/her needs above yours.
I believe that love is universal.
I believe that love is an ability, not an emotion.
My friend once wrote: "I love, therefore I am, I am, therefore, I love," and I completely agree with that.
I agree partly with C.S. Lewis - there are 4 different kinds of love - affection, erotic love, friendship, and a love for the world. I think that a person should have and express all of these, and that the more often love is expressed in this world, the better the world will become.
I believe that the more people love each other, themselves and the world, the better this world will be.
