Summary:-
Maybe there's a god above
And all I ever learned from love
Was how to shoot at someone who outdrew you
It's not a cry you can hear at night
It's not somebody who's seen the light
It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah
(C) Hallelujah
Author's Notes: This all came about becuase of a conversation I had with
haces222 about how I was not going to write this Ianto/Suzie fic. As you can tell, I did...

And Remember When I Moved In You,
The Holy Dark Was Moving Too
“Suzie”
“Ianto”
They were standing in an unlit street. On either side of a body. A bloody knife was in Suzie’s hands. Blood was running down the empty alleyway. Neither wanted to be the first to speak. But…
“Suzie what have you done?”
“It’s for the glove, Ianto. See it all makes sense, if I can just perfect it, but to perfect it, it needs practice, unless there are the bodies then it won’t work.”
Ianto thought of the glove, it would be sitting inconspicuously on Suzie’s work station, possibly accompanied by a blow torch or a stack of paper work.
He had taken it once, when they knew what it did and held it all night, standing above Lisa. It had been a terrible week and Ianto was scared that she was going to fail. So he had stood guard. He had even contemplated touching her with it, to see if it would help. But then it had been morning and he had to make the coffee.
He then looked to Suzie’s eager face.
“But you can’t do this. It’s murder”
Suzie tucked her wavy black hair behind her ear, staining both her hair and her face with blood.
“We’re above the government and outside the police. What’s the point of all that if we can’t get away with stuff. It’ll be worth it in the end, Ianto, just you wait and see”
Ianto took a step towards her, hands outstretched, as if to prove he had no weapons. Both of them knew that he had a pistol under his jacket.
Suzie turned the knife to him.
“One step closer, Ianto Jones and I’ll use you.”
Ianto closed his eyes, took a deep breathe and stepped forward again.
Suzie’s hand shook.
“Or your girlfriend”
Ianto froze. Opening his eyes to stare at her. His normally emotionless face, filled with fear.
“Oh yes, Ianto, I know all about her”
Ianto coughed, and tried to calm down.
“Yes, I mentioned her once didn’t I?”
“Oh Ianto, I’m not talking about that girlfriend… I’m talking about the cybernetic creation in the bowls of Torchwood Three”
Ianto automatically drew his gun. His hands were shaking and his voice wavered.
“How do you know about her?”
“It’s pretty hard to miss, great big power surges, you being so keen to fix them. Even when Tosh offers to help you turn her down. And when Jack protests you make him a coffee and let him fondle your arse. Just to keep him happy. Jack’s little lapdog, will do what he tells you, when he tells you. And with your girlfriend in the basement who can blame you? You need this job, so much that you’ll be a, what was it? Oh yes, a butler, for it”
Ianto gulped and took a step closer, raising his gun.
“What have you done to Lisa?”
His voice shook with fear and worry.
“Nothing don’t worry, I’ve only spoken to her, a few times actually. She’s a nice girl. Well, not quite a girl anymore, but anyway, she’s nice. I haven’t hurt her. I was going to kill her and use her body with the glove, but then she asked me if I could help her, and she cried. I couldn’t hurt her then. Well not personally.”
“D…did you tell-”
“-Tell Jack? Of course I didn’t. We’ve all got our secrets haven’t we Ianto? I’ve got mine, and you’ve got yours. And that’s the way that it’s going to stay.”
She stepped over the body at her feet. Blood running over her expensive shoes. And used the knife to point down the tip of Ianto’s gun, away from her.
“Here’s what we’re going to do Ianto. We’ll make a deal. I won’t tell anyone about Lisa, and you’ll keep quiet about my little hobby. It’s not a hard decision to make. Either Lisa dies, or Lisa lives. It’s all down to you.”
Ianto looked at the outstretched hand. That was lightly speckled with rain and blood intermittently. It was Lisa’s life against the residence of Cardiff. He shook the hand.
For a moment they just stood there and Ianto feared that the knife was going to be driven into him. But instead it was dropped to the floor. It landed in the street with a clatter. Suzie knocked Ianto’s gun hand so that his weapon joined the knife on the floor.
“Now what?” Ianto asked desperation seeping though he normally cool tones.
“Now, Ianto Jones, we wait” Suzie replied, her hands just skimming his.
“For what Suzie? For what?”
“For time to take its course”
Her hand was caressing his now, and Ianto flinched back automatically.
Suzie pulled a face that would have been the picture of innocence if there was not blood trailing down the side of her face.
“What exactly am I doing?”
Ianto shuddered, in the faint light, her eyes looked red. He knew in his head it was just a reflection from the pools of blood, but in his heart…
“You’re touching me”
Suzie looked shocked.
“Am I? You let our dear Captain flirt with you, why not me?”
Ianto flushed pink and looked away from Suzie’s gaze.
“There’s more to it isn’t there. You actually like him. You like him. Well that makes things interesting doesn’t it?”
Ianto put his hands up, in front of his face, defending his ears from her words.
“It’s not what you think, it’s not like that, I’d never-”
“-betray Lisa? Well I should hope not… He likes you too”
Ianto looked at her, a previously hidden hope shining though his features.
Suzie laughed.
“Pathetic, the pair of you. You both want each other, and neither of you do anything about it”
Her bitter laughter reverted around the alley way. They soon turned into sobs.
“Jack doesn’t want me”
Ianto blinked, and strangely felt a deep feeling of pity for Suzie. Unsure of how to react he simply listened to her cry.
“He took me in, but he doesn’t want me… he never… I’m only… he made me second in command though, which means something”
Ianto put his quaking hand on her shoulder, unsure of what his next move should be.
Suzie took it out of his hands as she neatly stepped over the prone body and pushed him bodily into one of the alley walls.
“He doesn’t want me, but he does want you…”
Ianto tried to push her away, he grabbed her arms, intending to force her backwards, but she used the same move on him, pushed forward so that their two bodies were in total contact.
She kissed him.
And to Ianto’s horror and shame, he kissed her back.
The feeling of a warm body next to his, however wicked and twisted it was, was an improvement from unheated flesh and bitterly cold metal. It was too much for him to resist.
In his mind he was kissing Lisa, they were sneaking around corridors at Torchwood One, or they were spending a week out in the country, or they were in Spain kissing on a beach. They where not in a dirty, bloody alleyway, Ianto and Suzie however where.
Ianto pushed away. And wiped his mouth.
“Why are you doing this?”
She kissed him again, and his hands came up to rest in her hair. They came away sticky with blood.
“I can’t do this Suzie, I’ll keep your secret, let me be”
“There’s nothing to do Ianto, you just have to relax, Lisa’s safe isn’t she? Every thing’s alright”
“But it isn’t”
“Oh come on, if you can do this for Jack, you can do it for me”
Ianto pulled his hands away from her and crossed his arms infront of his chest.
“We’ve never-”
Suzie tutted, frowning.
“Stop lying to me Ianto. I know how it is. You want to keep Lisa safe, what’s letting Jack touch you compared to her life? How is this any different?”
“It’s not like that. And this is nothing like it.”
“What, not like you and Jack? Come on Ianto. For Lisa?”
Ianto gulped and then nodded.
Suzie picked up her knife, and Ianto gun and grabbed him roughly by the hand.
“You made the right choice”

There was a man asleep in Suzie’s bed, the sheets where hanging around his waist, one hand was cradling his chest and the other was lying across his stomach.
Suzie was sitting above him, the knife in her hand.
“It would be so easy” she whispered, “I really could do it.”
She lowered the knife slightly and rested it lightly on his chest.
“But I don’t think that I will do it”
With that she lifted the knife up, and placed it on her bedside table. She stroked the blade and a few droplets of blood ran along her finger. She watched it for a few moments and then wiped it against the white pillow next to her.
Opening a drawer she removed a small pill. Opening the mouth of the sleeping man she pushed it in. Then she leant over his body, put her mouth against his and blew.
He coughed and then swallowed.
“This never happened Ianto, and that’s the way it will stay.”
