Les Miserables Fan Fiction.
So yeah... I did a thing and wrote fanfic of my favourite musical.
They're over on AO3 if you're at all interested and they're both Enjolras/Grantaire. Come on, it's very much canon, at least on Grantaire's side, he "admires, loves and vernates Enjolras" (quote from the Brick itself!) and Grantaire wakes up just to offer to die by Enjolras' side. And they die holding hands. They die holding hands okay? *cries*. (Okay, I have a lot of feelings about this, and Grantaire in particular.)
But anyway, in case anyone fancied taking a look at them.
The Helmsman's Calling. You know how I like making my favourite characters all beat up and bloody? Well, have some of that. Very mild of everything though, and more or less canon abiding.
Summary: "The sea is wine-dark, and has waves of blood. Or perhaps his blood has turned to fine wine. Grantaire knows not which any more. But there is something red on his shirt regardless."
A World You Long To See. In the musical after Marius has fallen in love with Cosette after a matter of seconds he tells Enjolras that "if you'd been there tonight you might know how it feels". Well, enter into this a canon-AU in which that's exactly what happens. A mutli-chapter event which isn't finished writing let alone posting, but there are a few chapters up and I'm rather proud of it to be honest.
Summary: "In which it was Enjolras who was struck to the bone in a moment of breathless delight, and who knows that the world can actually be changed in just one burst of light. And now he’s got to reassess his world view to include a young cynic who cares not a whit for his dreams of a revolution, a revolution that will swiftly be a reality."
So yeah, I appear to be writing fic again on a semi-organised level, which is a very good thing, considering how disappointed I was with myself for the turn-out last year!
Along a similar line, the NaNoWriMo beast is being beta'd by two absolute stars and might even be published this year!
