There's a truly beautiful 3/4 moon tonight. Too bad I didn't just stand out on my porch and watch it rise through the clear night. On, no. Instead, I watched "Moonlight.
In a word, meh. I don't really like the lead. He's attractive, but he's a pale imitation of our lovely, charming Henry. And I take back everything I ever said about Henry being an enthusiastic little puppy of a vampire. There are, it seems, worse things that a "good" vampire can be.
Like bo-o-o-oring.
I don't really like the love interest, either. She has none of the moxy or wit of our Vicki (although she did use the name Nelson as an alias). Furthermore, the idea that Mick has been watching her since she was a child, essentially waiting for her to grow up, has more of an ick factor than I'm entirely comfortable with. =:-o
And the worst thing is the lack of zing in the interaction between Mick and ReporterGirl. Compare that to the permutations of our beloved Trio...Henry/Vicki, Vicki/Mike, Mike/Henry. Every single one of those pairings has more chemistry than DuPont. Frankly, Josef and Mick had more spark than Mick and ReporterGirl, and even that had spark was feeble.
Which brings me to the one thing I really did like...Josef. Now, he's an intriguing character. :-)
I'll probably watch a couple more eps, because I've heard that the show gets better, but Blood Ties is already head and shoulders above this pale, mewling thing.
IMHO, of course. ;-)
