I just finished reading TJ Klune’s “How to Be a Normal Person”.
Klune is a queer author who writes hilarious books about queer people. I absolutely love them. This book is about Gus, a gay young man who runs a video store that almost no one rents from, except for the Three Queens, a trio of septuagenarian biker chicks, and who has a ferret named Harry S Truman. Although loved to distraction by his late father, Pastor Tommy, Gus is an irascible, impatient, solitary creature of habit. Then Casey, a friendly, asexual, hipster stoner who writes YA novels and likes to hug, comes to town and completely disrupts Gloomy Gus’ equilibrium.
It’s sweet and sad and funny as hell.
