I've been so tired, my energy levels have been really low, and when I get home from work, I haven't been able to muster up the gumption to do anything but sit on the floor and channel-surf. So, this past week, I purchased my first couple of batches of regionally grown produce and started cooking my own food again. And, between a nap and bedtime, I slept 11 hours on Friday, and 8 1/2 hours last night.
And today, I feel pretty damn fantastic. Go figure.
I'm also very retro today. I was killing time in a Jackson Marshall's a couple of weeks ago, and I came across this pale blue Calvin Klein dress that reminded me so much of the dresses that I wore in my teens and was so cheap that I had to have it. It's straight and knee-length, has princess seams, a self belt, cap sleeves, and a draped neckline. It also turned out to be almost the exact same shade of pale blue as the vintage Mr. John summer-weight turban that served as my Easter hat about 6 years ago. With silver bangles, a reproduction pale blue and periwinkle thermoset brooch, and a small, square gray handbag, I look like I stepped out of a 70's airplane disaster movie. :-) Only my shoes, which are silvery leather Onex wedges (made in the USA!), didn't fit the 70's theme.
So, I looked pretty damn fantastic today, too. I imagine that is a contributing factor to my better mood.
Now, my objective is to spend two hours, and only two hours, in my office today, and then I'm going home, where I will either read or take a nap in the sun and then spend the evening cooking good, healthy food for my lunches and dinners this week.
