Last night, I came home to find a furry little B/W critter standing on his hind legs with two paws up on my porch, scrabbling to pull himself up. He finally did, and then he ambled across the porch and went over the other side back down on the ground. Which was a good thing, because I didn't want to have to sleep in the car.
I am hosting a table for Hats Off to Bordeaux! again this year, which is a fundraiser for the senior center in Bordeauz, a relatively poor area in Nashville. I have 10 seats to fill at my table, but I'm having trouble getting people to agree to take a seat. I only had to fill half a table last year, and it's tougher to do a full table than I thought it would be. Oh, well, the center gets the money regardless.
And I get to model in the hat fashion show. :-)
I finally got my hair cut today, and it was such a relief. Now that my hair is beginning to turn noticeably gray, it looks just awful when it gets too long. And while I was in the salon, I had my eyebrows waxed, too. I do not know why I waited until I was in my 50's to have my eyebrows waxed. It's so fantastic not to have to pluck the damn things.
I have to drive east tomorrow for an appeal that is probably a total waste of my time and my client's time, but that's what you do when you're a union lawyer. You put on your shiny silver suit, you make every effort not to sound like a total doofus when you make a fairly specious argument, and then you sit your ass down.
Well, that's it for me. I'm going to turn in fairly early tonight, since I have a conference call at 8:30 a.m. tomorrow, after which I'll be spending 7-8 hours on the road.
