Whoo-hoo!
My icon won in the 6th Season category over at super_stillness! And it's the first icon contest I've entered over there in ages. But really...how can you go wrong recasting "Good Omens" with Crowley and Castiel?
I've been feeling really unanchored and unconnected today (and the last few days, when I wasn't so busy I didn't have time to feel anything), and I finally figured out what it is. My birthday is Thursday, and, by now, I usually have an organized birthday celebration that would rival the D-Day invasion underway. Last year, my official birthday celebration lasted an entire week and included a movie, a birthday eve dinner, a progressive birthday night dinner, a domino party, and a picnic. This year, I'm so damn busy at work that I really haven't planned that much. I have a position statement due Wednesday, I'm probably going to be arguing a board appeal in Somerville Thursday night, and I'm headed to East Tennessee for multiple client meetings on Friday.
That said, I am having a house-wide art sale on Sunday afternoon (with wine, cheese, and finger foods), featuring select pieces of my collection, both framed and unframed. After the sale, I'll serve birthday cake and coffee. There may also be pizza involved. It just depends.
But that's three whole days after my birthday. Can I even count that as a birthday celebration?
