oh election, everyone else is posting about you, so i shall as well...
i must say i am quite pleased with the outcome. i wasn't sure that americans could elect an african-american president, but we did, and i'm proud of that fact. it feels great to have taken part in such an historic event.
i am however, even though i do not live in california, disappointed that proposition 8, banning gay marriage, was passed. it saddens me to see such ignorance and hate still alive and well in the united states. of all states, you'd think california would pass it. it's just shameful.
my boss said today that he's glad he lives in massachusetts where gay marriage is legal. he said "i'm not gay, but i'd like to live in a state where gay people are." it was great, it made me laugh.
