Hop hop, Mr. B, angels don't wait for slowpokes...

Wow, it’s been a while, hasn’t it? Been a lot of shit going on (I’ll touch on that in a minute), and I just haven’t really been motivated to update. Here we go…

First, I’d like to share a bit of trivie, a helpful little hint, that likely no one reading this will care about. Being born to a hillbilly and having family from mostly the south, I absolutely love Vienna sausages. The problem with Vienna sausages is that they’re a bitch to get out of the can. Either you use a fork and end up mangling half of them, use a toothpick and giving the damn things sub incisions, or use a knife and just totally bungle it. I sat down a few minutes ago to have some, and inspiration hit me: chopsticks. So I grabbed a pair and I’ll be damned, it’s the best thing I’ve ever used to eat them. They slide right between the sausages, pick them up easily, and don’t even leave a hole. Fantabulous. Now on to things you may or may not care about.

Bioshock came out a week ago today, and if you haven’t played it, you need to. Easily the game of the year, and without a doubt on my short list of best games ever. The graphics are gorgeous (oh god, the water is so amazing), the play is amazing (nothing like setting a dead enemy on fire, then bashing another in the face with it while they’re standing in a puddle of oil), and the story is pretty damn awesome. I’m actually thinking of changing one of my planned pieces to a Big Daddy/Little Sister piece, so that should tell you something. Good stuff.

In my continuing obsession with the Ring series, I started reading Birthday today. So far I’ve knocked out Mai Takano’s section, and I’m loving it. I also read 300 and have to say that while the book seems much more realistic (no one is actually white, they’re all rather swarthy, and as far as I can tell none of the Greeks have Scottish accents) I have to say that the pacing and general feel of the movie is MUCH superior in my book. I also grabbed the Halo graphic novel while we were at the library, but we’ll see about that one.

In tattoo news, I got my right hand touched up again. The black held up quite a bit better this time, and actually goes all the way to the fingertips (like, tattooed cuticle goes all the way). I’m pleased as hell with it, and as soon as I’m up for another session on my fingers (not anytime soon), I’m going to have Matt hit the left hand the same. Hopefully I’ll be able to get some new work done soon, we’ll see.

Well, I think I’ve exhausted everything I could throw in to keep from getting to this part, so I guess there’s no more delaying it. Mom’s gotten a lot worse, to the point that we went to the hospital today so they could put in a central line for dialysis. She seems to be feeling ok, but they’re keeping her most of the week to play catch up and get her system all cleaned out. From what we’ve read the first few months can be a real bitch, so here’s hoping.

Well, that’s about it for now, I’ll eventually post pics of the hand, but I don’t feel like it at the moment. Much love, I’m out.
