Bizarre dreams, fueled by excessive movie/tv viewing.

On New Year's Day, my friend Mary and I watched three movies: a cheesy musical about Hans Christian Andersen, a surpisingly good John Travolta movie called A Love Song for Bobby Long (about an alcoholic former professor, among other things), and a shockingly bad Japanese horror movie called Infection.

After Mary left, I watched an episode of Criminal Minds on A & E, which I had not seen before (something about exorcisms).

As a result of all this strange and varied viewing, I had some bizarre dreams.  In fact, the only thing which didn't affect my dreams was the Hans Christian Andersen movie.

First, I dreamed about some odd Criminal Minds scenario, focused on Reid's dilaudid addiction.  I was not a part of this dream, more of an observer.  In my dream, the show went into much more detail about Reid's addiction, actually showing him shooting up, in withdrawal, etc.

Next was my odd combination dream, which was much more involved.

I dreamed that I was a new nurse in a hospital (this part of the dream came from the bad Japanese horror movie Infection).  I dreamed that I had to go to some sort of staff meeting, where the head doctor went on some sort of insane rant, because he was a raging alcoholic (the raging alcoholic bit came from the movie A Love Song for Bobby Long). He talked about all the nurses he had fucked, and I was somewhat jealous, because I was not once of the nurses he had fucked.  Why did I want to fuck the raging alcoholic doctor?  Because he was none other than David Tennant.  I don't know why David Tennant was in my dream, because I had not recently watched anything with him.  The only thing I can think of is that my sleeping brain associated the idea of a "doctor" character with David Tennant because of Doctor Who.

Next in my dream, I had to make a moderately long trek home over a bridge (this part likely came from real life).  I caught up with some coworker of mine; I think he was supposed to be a nurse, too.  He looked a lot like a junkie, but not like junkie!Reid, so I really don't know where this guy came from.  I told him what alcoholic!doctor David Tennant had said during the staff meeting, and  he was disgusted.  Then, I saw these random people with a sick dog, and I stopped to try to help the dog.  The junkie!nurse suddenly jumped aside, which upset me, because I wanted him to walk me home in the dark.  But, then, I saw that he was stopping a creepy looking guy from grabbing me.

The creepy looking guy said he wanted to stop me from saying bad things about alcoholic!doctor David Tennant.  I quickly apologized, and promised not to say anything bad about anybody.  Creepy guy went away, and junkie!nurse came to help me tend to the sick dog.

Then I woke up.
