Nightengale's Lament: a novel of the Nightside by Simon R. Green. Dark, urban fantasy. Kinda a cross between a hard-boiled detective story and Grant Morrison's Doom Patrol.. Sequel to Something from the Nightside and Agents of Light and Darkness.
Also, Sceptical Essays by Bertrand Russel. One of the problems with reading philosophy from the 1920s is that sometimes the social conditions that drive it can be baffling. Overall, though, I found it enlightening and interesting.
