Woohoo!

For quite some time now, I have been frustrated with my home computer situation. Basically, my old laptop (and I do mean old--it was a Pentium 133) decided that the screen it was displaying was far too large, and shrank the whole thing. I couldn't figure out why. xeger, who actually knows what xie is doing, couldn't figure out why. It was very frustrating; while text could still be opened, pictures were basically unviewable (and what's the point of a GUI if you can't see any G?), and many sites just wouldn't come up at all. Also, my storage media were breaking down; the floppy drive was treating everything as read-only, and the USB drives were unreliable at best. And the CD player was read-only.

So for quite some time now, my only access to the internet was at work. For obvious reasons, they didn't want me spending all my time on the 'net, so I could only read and post on breaks or after work. This is why I've made so few posts, and mostly about the books. But today, with plenty of cash in my bank account, I went out and bought me a new computer!

It's an Acer Travelmate, Pentium M 725 processor, 15.4 inches (don't you ever wonder why they didn't stretch it out to 15.5?), .5/80 G, DVD RW, 802.11 b/g. I am finding Windows XP to be a bit of an experience, but the speed of this monster is amazing (especially compared to my old machine).

So what does this mean for you, the faithful phantom_wolfboy reader? Well, since I can now post from home (xeger? I can still post from home, right?) you can expect more posts, for starters, and on a variety of subjects. I may even get some writing done, which means those filters may get some use. Anyway, you can maybe expect more of a reason to read, for a change.
