The Tale of the Chicken Wings and Choir

The two have really no connection I just thought I'd stick them both in the title.

Now for the tale of the chicken wings first.  Every year around this time Augustana Food Service hosts a Food Fair.  They bring in different vendors and students get to sample their food, as much as they want, absolutely free.  There's usually enough food here where you can get an entire meal off of sample size portions.  Anyways...I get there about 15 minutes before it ends because I worked until 1 and it takes me about 10 minutes to get down campus (thing closed at 1:30).  I'm wandering the booths that still have food looking for something good.  I come across a booth of chicken wings.  The lady asks me of I would like a few and I say yes.  Now, I'm thinking she's just gonna put a few on a plate.  No.  She takes the pan of spicy garlic wings and dumps it into the pan of savory roasted chicken wings and hands me the pan.  And we're not talking a few wings...we're talking close to 50 wings.  Me and a few people ate a few but I still have a lot in my room.  So if you want some spicy garlic or savory roasted chicken wings let me know...

Now for the tale of choir.  As you may know I sing Tenor II in the Augustana Collegiate Chorale.  Well, yesterday Mr Zemek was not at rehearsal because he was in Peoria for a music educators conference.  And yesterday we still had rehearsal.  Mr Zemek had students leading rehearsal...and I was one of them.  We're working on a love song called Set Me As A Seal Upon Your Heart.  I chose that one as I like slow, pretty love songs.  My friend Tim chose the modern/contemporary sounding piece we are working on called Saul, about the new testament character who later becomes St Paul.  He comes up to me as rehearsal is starting and says he's not able to conduct it today, can I do it.  I say yes.  Yay for rehearsing a song with no preparation!

That is all that I have for now.  I shall write again soon.  God's peace be with you...
