(no subject)
I have a headache.
This is probably due to the fact that I have eaten nothing except dessert items today.
The best desserts of the day were at the awards ceremony: I tried some of everything (and got chocolate all over myself in the process). I received a very nice award/scholarship for which I am not technically qualified (the chair of the music department was apparently unaware of the fact that I am not a music major), then zoned out for the rest of the ceremony; consequently, I nearly tripped over myself when I was startled out of my chair for an award from the rhetoric department. Completely unexpected, but very nice. also, Cheryl was an excellent date. :)
Also today, I had two separate meetings with several Methodist leaders, including some local elders, pastors from places such as Louisiana and Denver, the president of Northwest House of Theological Studies, as well as the president of Claremont School of Theology. I was slightly intimidated, but really appreciated the conversations: it was very refreshing to see the intense interest and dedication they displayed towards moving the Methodist church in a positive direction. I especially enjoyed QUAD tonight, with everyone contributing, but also was fascinated by Janna's comments this morning about seminary. (basically, I want to be Janna Chaney. I really admire her.) Desserts were served here, too, and Karen gave me a bistro gift certificate as a thank you. :D
last highlight of the day was seeing Warren: we hung around in Hudson for an hour after he finished with SCO, just talking: about friends, relationships, his students, hot tubs? :) loved it. made a jamba date for tomorrow. but practicing timpani didn't do much for my headache, which is getting worse. time for tylenol, methinks.
