Well... it can either be good, or bad, what John said... about Dean being his... Frankly the first thing I thought was, that's bad... but then... knowing how calculating a person John Winchester is, even though he knows he's way in over his head and he probably can't think TOO clearly right now... I thought maybe... maybe John said that so later, once Sam is healed, he can give Dean to Sam? That way Dean will believe that he's Sam's again, because he's been given? Because Dean is still far more broken than Sam. And Dean needs Sam more than anyone else right now, even if Dean is too slave!mind to realize it.

Ellen could be the person, yeah... that would be something. And it would make me hate her even more. *g* And since she apparently believes John let her husband die, maybe she did this as a hope to get to both/all of them as revenge? *L*

*g* I'm going off on tangents here, don't mind me. :)

But this is terrific... you've really got me sucked into this story, just praying for Sam to heal enough, and fast enough, to start taking care of/owning Dean again... and for Dean to trust Sam again... And the angst with Sam maybe petting Dean's hair... holding him... trying to work through Dean needing... pain and punishment, showing Dean gentleness and love again.
