A Rare, Non-Fic posting
I posted this in amara_m, my main journal, but realized that some of my writerly & graphics type friends might not see it there, so thought I'd add it here too. If you get it twice, I apologize.
Next Wednesday (Sept 13th), I will be 38 years old. That doesn't seem possible.
For the last five years (maybe longer), my birthdays seem to just get all fucked up. Plans fall through, presents get misdirected, etc...I'm ready for that to change.
I started by putting any and all expectations aside. I have no momentous plans, and expect a fairly quiet day.
I have a request to make to my friends list though to take this one step further.
Each of you has a friends list filled with interesting and wonderful people who I don't know, or haven't had the opportunity to know. Some of you write wonderful fan fic or erotica or fiction. Some of you do graphics.
On Wednesday, any time wednesday, (but not before, cause I'm looking to have a day of little happy moments), I'd love it if you could post a note pointing me to the journal of someone you think I should get to know...or a little drabble, ficlet, etc...silly, cute, hot, sexy, porn, smut...whatever...or an icon, banner, desktop graphic that tickles one of my interests (extra points for pretty boys/girls) (extra, extra points if it is designed to go with one of my fics)...Or...something else...whatever else...
Essentially, I'm looking for little surprises, happy-making moments with my friends, who have come to mean a lot to me...
I hope that doesn't come across as too whiny or needy. I guess it is...to some degree, but I'm okay with that. How can anyone help you if you don't let them know what it is you need, right?
