JD works just as well. Maybe a little *too* well...
Despite the memory loss, Dean is being very insightful:
“Fuck you. Just…fuck you Dad. You should have been there. He needed you. He needed his father. He needed a friend. And maybe he’s so fucked up because he did know better and didn’t think he had a choice.”
John's right in a way - there are some lines you don't cross. Until you do. And once you have, you have to deal with the fallout - and so do those around you. John is gonna need to deal with the fallout here. How *he* deals is going to affect how Dean and Sam (Sam especially) deal. Because Dean's right - Sam needs his father. And a father's unconditional love. And I'm not sure if this John can provide that. ::frets::
You know I'm gonna have to re-read 'Broken' to answer the questions I had while reading this, dontcha? *And* I'm gonna be jonesing for you to write more here. Damn, girl - with the glimpses of Sammy at the *beginning* of this mess and now Dean at the *end* of it, you've got me coming *and* going.
And I love every minute of it!

Yes, how John handles this is going to greatly affect Sam, and in turn how Sam and Dean function from here.
There's more Sammy pre-Broken to come shortly. Though there will be no writing this weekend as I'll be working SF Pride all weekend.
