Back to the drawing board

I was tinkering with the boat this afternoon. I wanted to recarpet the skids so the hull doesn't get scratched when launching. I was told the boat has to be off the trailer when doing it. So how does one launch an un launchable boat? It doesn't matter there is still a crack in the hull. So I was going to block it up somehow. It's a 600 pound boat so I can't just lift it off and throw it back on like Popeye. Then I thought I could put something under the stern, the back of the boat, and lift the trailer tongue at the front with the dolly. Since the wheels are just about amidships when the bow goes up, the stern goes down. I found a couple of old chairs the fit just perfectly underneath and slowly cranked the tongue in the air. The rear of the trailer came down while the stern stayed in it's same position, just resting on the chairs.

"That was easier than I thought." I said. When I was going around inspecting how everything sat and chasing away spiders I met a friendly dragonfly. He didn't seem very lively though.
I tried to take the skids off as I was told to do. I don't see why they have to be, but one needs to be replaced because the wood has rotted anyway. But the bolts are rusted. They just won't turn, and if they do, it's because the wood is too far gone to hold anything.
I tried the others, but only one can be removed because it was recently replaced. There was no sense taking one off if the others couldn't be so I took the tongue back down and took the chairs back to the basement where I found them. Not sure how to get those bolts out. Also, I took the cuddy (that white wedge like thing thar) rests off because I think they were put on upside down. They are kind of like wooden strips that run along the bulwark. (Wall like thing) but whenever I put the cuddy on it would slide off too easily as if it were too small. One day I saw that the bottom of the strip was wider than the top which the cuddy sits on. There is a lot of strange things on this boat. On the cuddy itself are a a series of holes at intervals along the bottom. I wasn't sure what they were. When I took the wood off I discovered more holes underneath them that look very similar. Perhaps the previous owner tried to bolt it to the bulwark. In any case, I kind of like the cuddy off. There is a lot more space on the foredeck to do things. All it's really meant for is sailing on the ocean where the swells are high enough to swamp the boat. It does look cool with it on though. Unfortunately I can't figure out how the rests go back on. X3 the screw holes don't line up. I'll figure it out after I refinish them. Who knows when that will be.
