Back from travel for the time being. Got down to Old City for the first time in a while, had dinner with the siblings and
damonbradl at
Zahav, a generally Israeli place.
That right there is a drink they call a Marble Rye. Kitschy Seinfeld allusion aside, it's the best cocktail I've had since a place out in Vegas made me the best Sazerac in the world. It's rye whiskey that's been infused with caraway and pumpernickel, some celery-infused simple syrup, and a splash of club soda. To the guy who invented this: you done good. Bonus points for using Beam rye, which is a lot better than some of the ridiculous $40+/bottle ryes I've tasted.
I think in retrospect that'd have been a better shot if I weren't totally flat-on to the guy. I've got this subconscious desire to not block the sidewalk. Do me a favor, and click on it to see the large version, the large works better.
