Pay attention, leftists, because here's what good "international consensus" is.

The United States watered down proposals for a UN resolution yesterday after Muslim states refused to threaten sanctions against Sudan for failing to curb Arab militias accused of ethnic cleansing.

The US, backed by Britain, dropped the word "sanctions" from a draft resolution in order to secure broad agreement on a text that could be adopted by the UN Security Council today. The move will give Sudan more time to comply with demands from the UN, which described the situation in the western region of Darfur as the world's worst humanitarian crisis."

There we go. The "Muslim states" refused to go along with a proposal to "threaten sanctions," so we dropped even that phrase from the resolution to secure their approval.

That's international consensus. That's the value of the UN. "Threatening sanctions," isn't even a meaningful action, and the UN can't even do *that* in response to an ongoing genocide. There's no doubt about what's going on, here, and the only people who dispute the grotesque immorality of it are a bunch of barbarians. You'd think there if there were *anything* the international community would be willing to band together and fight against, it would be an ongoing and readily observeable brutal genocide, right?

Nope. Not when the international community is comprised in large part of barbarians just like the ones committing genocide. Hoping for useful consensus is a fucking pipe dream.

By the time the UN gets around to actually doing anything about the genocide in Darfur, it will be over.

Just like in Rwanda. This is a travesty, and if you think this is a body whose approval we should be courting, you're an idiot.
