You know, I always love me some Tomato Nation, but this week's essay is really good. It's about those pop-culture quotes and cliches we all know and use but sorta hate too. This is why I enjoy making up our own little catchphrases. Such as "oooh, too much heroin!" or "Turn the wheel, Kameelah! Go faster, dang it!" which may have pop culture antecedents but aren't, you know, "this one goes to eleven," or "d'oh!" I pride myself on making Simpsons references which people won't immediately be able to place. Although at this point, Segev is very tired of me saying "Stupid bug! You go squish now!" every time I'm irritated with something, so maybe I should stop that.
