“Here live the Numah” said Farren pointing at what appeared to be empty space. “They gave up three dimensional space to live on this one dimensional line, but in return, instead of only being able to go at an uncontrolled rate through time in strait line, they can move three dimensionally through time. Not only can they move forwards and backwards; they can also go sideways, up, and down in time too, concepts we can’t even understand.”
Prentice reached out and touched the line. “That’s so weird.” e said.
A short Numah saw Prentice’s finger. “What’s that?” it asked its friend.

Prentice thought for a moment “but if they can travel back in time why can they only move forward and not backwards?”
“Everything is moving through time,” explained Farren “and everything is moving through space, at least at a microscopic level. So does the passage of time allow movement through space or does the movement of space allow passage through time?”
