Everybody seems to forget two key elements:
1. President Bush is going to bring the new US strategy for Iraq in the next days in front of a hostile Congress. He will be able to sell Saddam's death as a victory of his past strategy.
2. Saddam will never be judged for massacres of Kurds. This will prevent Turkey from being accused of being involved, which would have greatly embarrassed its biggest ally, the US.
Let's stop talking about morality. Politics is not a moral thing.
Let's say it out loud: it was a political decision, and it was maneuvered by Americans.
Even revenge has nothing to do with it.
