I've recently realized the importance of understanding the origins of agriculture and our relationship to food. I wrote a whole entry about this but it's gone now. Suffice it to say that I started out thinking I would just study the way humans interact with their environment, but what I've really ended up studying is how we interact with animals and how they have domesticated us and we domesticated them and how that has shaped our current food industry. I'm a scientific foodie! It's all coming together.
