Oct 26 - Oct31: Stayed up late and got up at 630 a lot. Did PERL project. Had no Halloween whatsoever.
Oct31: Handed in PERL project, around 3AM. Bombed it pretty terribly too. If not having had a 98 going in, might have been trouble.
Nov1: went home and went to sleep. Girl woke me up for dinner with much sweetness and charm. Went back to sleep.
Nov2: Went to work, did a few hours of receipts, until the boss herded everyone into the kitchen, in order to have the regional vice president fly in from Texas to tell us that every last one of us was fired. Went home and cooked dinner, feeling oddly chipper.
Nov3 and 4: climbed a mountain. Spent a lot of quiet time with girl. Saw a Martin Scorese movie. Relaxed.
Nov5: Went to local bookstore and looked up grad school application deadlines. The first of them is in about five weeks. Also, I need a job. I leave for a badly-timed thanksgiving jaunt to drive race cars in ten days.
Nov 6: application hell starts today. Well, it was a fun forty-eight hours of vacation!
