A short and rather dishevelled and dirty elderly man came over to me when I was looking in the Cultural Studies section of Waterstones bookshop today.
He said very pointedly, "Open the world up to women and you open it to all criminals!"
Then he shuffled away again.
I paused for a few seconds and then burst out laughing.
I think I liked him.
