entry 23-- flashback fast forward rewind
Yes I'm alive, and I did make it to California, after a way too long visit to the old haunts, in the midwest. I've been here for a week shy of a month or something, and I've been meaning to post for a while, just to give a whats up on whats going on. But if I have any skills its in finding reasons to procrastinate. Its funny the kind of reasoning you can make for not making a blog post simply saying, "I made it and I'm okay" but of course, when has my posts ever been so simple... so then I pondered what the hell I should write about. From there it went to, "well I can start back on Decypher by posting a comic, as I have a whole month of strips already done" but as some of you (I hope have realized) the transfer to Comic Genesis from keenspace has mucked some stuff up, I'm still getting through (I'll talk about the comic later), so I thought well even though decypher might not be rolling for a few more weeks I could draw some stuff and post some sketches. Of course then I realized I'd have to dig up drivers for a scanner laying around here (I gave the scsi one to my mom), so finally I was like hell with it, and that takes me to today. *huffs*
So at anyrate, nothing good and nothing to show for all the time I was away, well right now. But I'll remedy that soon, once I get everything sorted out. I've been hitting the decypher site everyday trying to figure out what is going on. And with the massive que everytime I try to fix my site, its basically one attempt a day. Of course broadband goes out any day now here, for a week, until the new service comes in (with a wireless modem.. hense why I'm glad I got a wireless nic) so if I don't get it fixed soon I'll have to wait even longer. But as I'm playing with that and getting the scanner to work (mainly I've been to lazy to actually download the drivers then burn them to CD (course I do have the IPOD now.. so maybe I'll just do that). But I've gotten two more strips drawn plus the four I already have. So if anything I'll be two months ahead by the time I get back to it. And, I've already decided to update twice a week until my buffer is exhausted. I'm sure it won't last to long, just eh two months, as I'm not really fast enough to keep up that sort of buffer. Course I could get more done, before I get back..matters how long its gonna take me to get things situated at Keensp--- err comic Genesis... though enough complaining about the switch over, been doing that to much already. When I get everything settled and back to actually posting the comic updates I'll post it here. Look for it by september
Aside from the comic work, I've also been getting some writing done. For those taking notes on the fiction side of things, one will realize I still had two things left to get the loose ends tied up. Well I finish Green Arrow: Kingdoms, which was a 54 page beast, and took me the month I was at my mum's to complete it. The other thing Ravage 2099: emergence, I been working on since last week, and despite being busy with other things I'm almost done with it. Then I can get back in focus and not be looking at things I promised. I hate being behind. Hate it so much.
As to the music side of things, for those who actually still recall I'm a bit of a amature musician... I've been stale lately. other than playing guitar on a semi-daily basis I haven't really felt the burn to get back into working on my in progress stuff. Though I mostly attribute this, as I do my art (or lack there of lately) I'm still adjusting to the west coast and things are so very diffrent here. Its like a mirror image of my life in Tennessee.
So yeah I'm safe and sound, and adjusting as well as I can to the new life, here in Los Angeles. Trying to find a job finding the humor of how the people are here (don't hit me its a generalization). I'm going to a few shows this week, seeing live music should be nice since I haven't since the end of june and its annoying. I'm also looking for a job, so if anyone knows good resources for video/film production gigs in Los Angeles let me know. Currently I'm just using Monster and word of Mouth.
I'm tired everything else can wait.
