today is not happening
I refuse to let today happen because it already sucks so much. On the one hand, the head of accounting congratulated me on my VPs (which are electronic documents we create in the mainframe financial system to pay for people's travel and reimbursements and things), so that was nice. Although really, these documents are simple for someone who grew up using telnet, so I am not sure it's much of an accomplishment.
On the downside... I don't want to talk about that because I will get all upset and frustrated again. I will just say... people react to me weirdly. You all know I am opinionated. You know I am not shy about speaking my mind. I hope you know that I don't expect you to agree with me. My university trained me to think in arguments. Class wasn't about learning facts or methods, it was about learning how to think and argue and defend and support and analyze. And that's the way I see pretty much everything I have an opinion about. I will discuss the relative merits of alien mpreg just as passionately as I will abortion rights.
That's the way I am. Argue with me, talk to me, tell me what you're thinking or feeling. That's the way a dialogue is supposed to go. Remember, it's not a journal, it's a conversation. Your opinion is just as valid and important as mine or anyone else's. So speak it.
And now I am going to read the new Idol recap (surely more entertaining than the show was last night) and topaz119's timestamp of the amazing JuC Swap fic she wrote me. YAY.
