JC looked good last night, but I miss his crazy outfits. I have been told the weird black stuff wrapped around his fingers is actually tape for when he plays guitar? Or something? I don't know. It reminds me of S&M JC, and in that suit I just kept thinking that JC is slowly turning into James Spader in Secretary. Soon he will be handing the groups their critiques with giant red circles all over, pointing out their mistakes. (And then comes the spanking.)
In other news, today I am playing racquetball! I joined the UT gym and it's fabulous. It's the nicest gym I've ever been to, and I didn't even go to the super fancy new gym. I went to the "crappy" gym. It's sosososo nice. Faculty and staff have their own locker rooms and weight rooms. The big weight room with the aerobics machines was totally full with people waiting, but the staff room was half empty. *beams* And they have a fancy online reservation system for the racquetball courts! So I am playing against Matt today during my lunch hour.
Today for Friday is Shiny, I thought I'd do electronic gadgets. There are many gadgets I wish I could have but never will, because I am incapable of spending money on things I don't actually NEED. Except coffee, but it's pretty arguable that I do need coffee.
First up:
The Sony VAIO netbook. It's only $900! Hahaha. Also, I love how this is advertised as pretty much only for portable net browsing, and yet it has more RAM and a bigger hard drive than my PC. It's so pretty and tiny! 9.7in by 4.7in. 1.4lbs. IT WOULD FIT IN MY PURSE NOMNOMNOM.
I want a Kindle! So I can read on the bus!! $359 is a lot to spend for a technology that is not peaking yet, though. I like the idea of it, especially for traveling, but the technology just isn't there yet for me. It's not backlit, for one thing, and it's not in color, which doesn't matter so much but would be nice. I've seen people with them on the bus and I think they look so cool. I think it's hilarious though that people think these will replace books. WHAT WILL ENGLISH MAJORS WRITE IN THE MARGINS OF?? No way, I love my paper books. I love underlining. Maybe when the Kindle gets color and the ability to underline important passages and "post it note" certain pages, then it will have the capacity to replace books.
iPod Touch, $229. *grabby hands* I have a nano, I got it for Christmas last year and I love it. But I would love to have something portable I can check email on. I don't want an iPhone. My friends have them, the apps are fun but basically don't interest me (aside from the "cylon detector", which none of my friends have bought yet, damnit). I can check email with my phone but it's clunky and I can't really respond. I hate phones though; hate talking on them, don't want to pay a ton of money for a Blackberry or an iPhone. Also, I refuse to give up my cheap Working Assets plan. I never pay more than $50 a month.
I do need new headphones for my nano. Mine got chewed by a cat. Sigh.
The Zap Car! It's $11,500. An electric car. It only goes 40mph and 25 miles on one charge, but it's an ELECTRIC CAR. *wants*
The Tata Nano!! The world's cheapest car at $2500, it gets between 50 and 60mpg. Which is great because it only holds 4 gallons. It fits 4 people. AND IS ONLY $2500!! They're also working on more eco-friendly versions--an E-Nano which will be electric with solar panels, and one with an air-compression engine. This is better than the electric car because a) CHEAP and b) goes fast enough for highway travel.
And that's all for today. I've wasted 2 hours. YAY!
