heute ist vendredi!
So last night I was sitting there, happily watching JC be adorable on America's Best Dance Crew, when my DVR cut off!! BECAUSE MTV MADE THE SHOW GO LONG, WTF. That shit is not live! It's called editing and...and... I'm pissed! It cut off right when JC was drinking to the girl from Fish n Chicks, and I wanted to hear his opinion, damnit!
But otherwise, it was a good show last night. Kaba Modern were fantastic as always. BreakSk8t was even a bit better, and I very much enjoyed JC telling them how sexy they are. Heeee. That is as far out of the closet as JC will ever get! I loved it. Jabbawokeez were very awesome as well and my favorite of the night was Fish n Chicks. I had never heard that Beyonce song before, but DAMN, they did her style so well. For a group of hardass chicks, they did SO GREAT and they even managed to still be kind of hardass with it. So much love.
Okay, what annoyed me? MTV's lame-ass video choices. One Chris Brown song I can understand, although to be honest, Chris Brown really isn't that good of a dancer. His hands and feet are sloppy and he's got this stiff awkwardness that bothers me. He's only 18 or something though, so he'll get better. But for serious, MTV, TWO CHRIS BROWN SONGS?? As if the boy needs more advertising. That's not suspicious at ALL. And then to give Status Quo 'Can't Touch This' was just CRUEL. I don't care what Shane thinks, MC Hammer's dancing is a fucking joke and always has been. 'Hey Mama' and 'Hollaback Girl' are not dance videos! Gwen can't dance at ALL and Fergie can only do the one thing with her ass.
Maybe I'm just bitter but... how can you have a dance video challenge and not give someone a Justin video? Or Usher, or Britney (because seriously, how much more awesome would 'Me Against the Music' or 'Slave 4 U' been instead of 'Hollaback Girl'???) or even Ciara, whose 'Like A Boy' is one of my all-time favorite dance videos??
In conclusion: MTV SUCKS. But JC? He is NEATO.
Also, he looked fucking HOT last night, Jesus. He's so much hotter on camera than he is in still photos. And he's so adorable. NEATO. I will never get over that.
Anyway, here,
1. Iconic: Screw having another Chris Brown video. You know what would've rocked? Some fucking USHER.
2. Jabbawokeez: Even though they were awesome, what would've been more awesome than the lame Ice Box song would've been some JUSTIN. Can you imagine them doing 'Rock Your Body'?? That would've KILLED.
3. Poor Status Quo. WTF was MTV thinking? If they wanted to give these guys something old school, why not, say, Michael Jackson, who at least is still relevant musically and dance-wise, unlike fucking MC HAMMER:
4. Live In Color: Okay so, 'Hey Mama'? Not what I would consider a dance video. Why not take these people out of their booty-shaking comfort zone and make them do something awesome like, say, Missy Elliot:
5. Femme5 was so much better last night, but still crappy. Gwen Stefani can't dance!! Why would they give them a Gwen video? I would've given them, you know, something that makes sense for the Diet Britneys: BRITNEY, BITCH. Only, early Britney. Revolutionary Britney. Britney/Madonna Britney! My favorite Britney video ever:
(God, she's so hot. And she's really covered up in this [for Britney] and yet... SO HOT. I miss her *sadface*) But how awesome would that have been?? They could've used CANES and like, ungh, it would've been hot. I hate them, and I would've loved it. Of course, they'd never had matched the Britney Awesomeness, so...
6. Fish 'n Chicks: I loved the Beyonce routine and they really did kill it, but they were MADE to dance to Ciara's 'Like A Boy':
7. I would've liked to see BreakSk8t do even MORE dancing and not just pelvic thrusting, although hearing JC's comments on that was very much worth it. How kick ass would it have been for them to do, say... 'Like I Love You'?? I wonder if they could've even done it...
I think they could've pulled it off and it would've KILLED if they got the arms right.
Okay, that's enough for me. Only 6 hours of work left!! 3 day weekend!!
