three things
1) I finished my spn_harlequin fic!!! Now it is out of my hands and up to wendy to tell me that it doesn't suck enough to post. I am still trying to decide on a title. Right now it's between The Manny or something The Sound of Music-related. Suggestions are welcome. All you really need to know is that Jared is Jensen's manny. For Jensen's kids, not for Jensen. Erm, technically. I could call it 'O Ho Lay Dee Odl Lee O'! Hm, maybe not.
2) Saw Hairspray last night. Fantastic! Not, of course, as good as the original John Waters film (although his cameo was delightful), but pretty good nonetheless. I'm not sure how I feel about John Travolta in that role. He really busted out at the end with his dancing, but the rest of his performance left me kind of cold. I felt more like he was funny because he was a man playing a fat woman, rather than because of anything he actually did himself (says the girl writing the genderfuck governess fic). Whereas Divine in that role was funny because she was funny, and not because of the gender-bending. I came out of it thinking Amanda Bynes is ADORABLE, wanting to make out with Seaweed, and knowing that Lance is going to be KILLER as Corky Collins.
3) So, I know there's a wank going around about the HP art comm and their tags and such. I'm pretty neutral on this issue and I can see the points on both sides of the argument, but I just want to remind everyone that it's not illegal to be racist or make racist statements. It's stupid and gross, but it's not illegal, otherwise half of Congress and the White House would be in jail, along with some of Fox News's finest. That said, livejournal is a community that provides ways of dealing with these issues via the TOS and Abuse team. If you don't like something and the mods refuse to change it, bite the bullet and report it to LiveJournal. Especially in this case, I'm sure you could make the argument that they're advocating beastiality and get them shut down. So. In conclusion: less whining, more action. Also: cock.
