Music Monday!
So I spent most of Saturday afternoon watching Britney videos, because as much as I love her, I have never seen most of them. Remember, during the height of her popularity, I lived in cable-less dorms (I DID get to watch Britney Live from Hawaii, but it was very fuzzy) or on mountains in Arkansas, so I missed the whole craze. I have to say, Britney's videos are AMAZING.
Slave 4 U: Okay, aside from her crotch being bright pink in a very Chasez-tastic choice of ensemble, this video rocks. There's Britney, all sweaty and gorgeous. There're lots of hot, sweaty guys. There's an orgy. And then, there's the Justin look-alike, wearing a grey hoodie, dripping water, and staring creepily. I pause. I STARE. I think, which came first, the chicken or the egg--Slave, or Cry Me A River? Answer: Slave. Oh, Justin. You're even CREEPIER than I thought.
Me Against the Music: Holy shit, this video is awesome. It's so. SUBVERSIVE. How did I not realize that Britney is actually, you know, so fucking subversive it's not even funny? I mean, on the outside, this looks like any other video, with her strutting around looking hot, dancing, humping walls, etc. But then she throws in Madonna with her sexually suggestive cane dance, and the crawling-around-the-bedframe dance, and the almost making out part, and I just. *flails* It's the gayest, sexiest video ever, and I LOVE IT. I want to write a thesis about it! It's amazing.
