Ticking boxes
This week, to celebrate being either unemployed or between contracts (depending on the gasp factor), I’m ticking boxes. Starting with the niggley things. Like confirming my appointment for Wednesday. TICK. Searching LinkedIn and updating connections. TICK. Actioning email requests for website updates. TICK. Hmm… is it possible that two of my ongoing, but mostly self-sufficient, clients have worked out that I have scope to update their sites for a modest fee? Or just one of those synchronous events?
In any event this week I WILL - liberate not one but TWO domains from the evil clutches of Network Solutions (gotta love it when they “protect” your domain which means you’re always and forever locked in to their absurd renewal fees), I will get a handle on my mother’s website re-skin and I’ll find a CAPTCHA solution that might actually work for PEOPLE for one of my client’s guestbooks that is being spammed to hell and back.
And after all that, I’ll send some invoices to keep the cash flow flowing and will - from time to time - look for that new contract! :)
I'll even refrain from emailing my colleagues at CBA with "wake-up" call updates ;)
