lmfao, its nothing spectacular but I asked around and apparently made a good choice [as my budget = less than $200 dollars plox]. Its a uh, samsung? HT Xsomethingsomethingorother. I bought the wireless unit + TX card seperately.
I wish I could afford a bose lifestyle, HRAH. Or, the latest sony bravia system [WHICH! I found at an online outlet for $150, WHAT, but they were out]
LOL really?! I sat through a demonstration of the lifestyle system and its the best I've heard yet [but I've yet to experience things like, Onkyo and Pioneer]. But I have Bose headphones and they're.. incredible P:
Doesn't Onkyo make receivers? Didn't know they were a speaker manufacturer. As for Bose, I've heard that they're not really bottom of the barrel terrible, it's just that most people really into head-fi are highly concerned with how the speakers sound, and there are always better options for the price.
Bose also tends to be pretty deceptive with their demonstrations - they want special treatment from resellers in terms of how their system is portrayed and played, giving them a big advantage. Most of the hi-fi stores don't even carry them.
Onkyo makes home theater packages as well -- they aren't too pricy actually, but are supposed to be very good even if Onkyo is new to that part of the business [seems like they are?].
I seee. This demonstration was in a Bose store, in a home theater setting -- although now that you say that, I think they would probably sound a lot worse once you actually get them in to your home because a plain, enclosed room with rows of seats in a store =/= a fully furnished livingroom etc.
the headphones are by far better than any others I've so much as tried -- but I haven't ever owned anything much nicer than JVC marshmallows or skullcandy in-ears, etc. so--
Oh, and its 5 speakers. 2 LR front, 2 LR back, a center and a subwoofer. I heard several different things from several different sources [see: Speakers are great, sub is weak, OR sub is TOO strong, try to place it behind something or further away] SO depending on how that works out I may end up upgrading a few bits, but we'll see. Cos now I get to worry about OUTDOOR speakers.. D:
what brand, what speakers, what is the system, etc, etc..

"I like the wood bose better than the plastic bose. The plastic makes all sorts of nasty fumes when you put it in the fireplace.."
