that other post was pretty uninformational.
Highlight of my weekend. Because many people don't understand and probably never will, there's some explanations of whats going on. A lesson in offroad, if you will..
This sweet ride is for sale. No, that number i$n't the mileage.
Winner of the Trophy Truck class
Early morning action, prerunner class.
1600 class, always good battles. Truly a driver's class.(because of vehicle restrictions)
SuperBuggy class action. Less restrictions, more option$.
Opening ceremonies prior to Pro class races. Notables included Jesse James, Jeremy McGrath, and Travis Pastrana, all racing for the 1st time. Here's Mr 199 himself (Pastrana) and the media.
Some Pro-2 (2=2 wheel drive) action
This is called "Full Droop" (suspension maxed out, always happens in the air)
This, however is "Full Bump". (opposite of Full Droop, always on the ground)
many a vehicle caught fire on this occasion. (Drivers/teams went all out for the big $$ up for grabs, along with not worrying about saving the car/truck for the next race)
Given the tendencies of this sport, there are always parts flying off, haha. Here we see a bedside getting ripped off of Pro-2
The focus of the camera here is all frucked up.
I forgot what else I was gonna say.
I took these pictures in the special trackside area designated for Media & Race teams. (only racers/teams, photographers from magazines, video productions, etc. allowed)
70 MPH drop-off, ooo
And the trucks were getting clocked at 100 MPH on this section
Here's that winning TT in action
"Terrible Herbst". Just know the name.
While my dad was trying to get a free T-shirt from the event, I picked up this little souvenir. It's a door off of the Baldwin Pro-4 that was in a pretty bad accident off of the start line. (not actually a door, but a fiberglass skin, used for weight savings)
I'm tired and need to sleep, bye.
They were the best I could take while trying to keep track of the racing..
