Thunderbirds: New Series is Officially Confirmed

Feb 04, 2013 15:44

News of this has been circling for a long time now and Gerry Anderson himself said in an interview on the BBC: "I am going to make a new series of Thunderbirds. And that's official."

However, it has now been officially confirmed that ITV, Pukeko Pictures and Weta Digital are teaming up to make a new series of Thunderbirds that will feature all 5 Tracy brothers with a combination of CGI effects and live action environments.
They're apparently going to produce 26 half-hour episodes, and as long as they don't change the designs of the Thunderbirds vehicles themselves too much or the basic looks and personalities of the brothers', then I'll be more than happy with that! (And good God, less Alan Tracy for pity's sake!)

It's a darn shame that Gerry never lived to see the show itself; though the clever, sneaky man clearly made good on his promises before he died and really was kicking it in the rear from the shadows to get the project off of the ground.
