Thanks! Wilson's in remission and there is always the risk of the cancer coming back but for now they can breathe easier and truly enjoy their life together.

Aw, what a sweet epilogue. If you wanted to expand on this "celebration," I wouldn't complain ;)

Thank you:) Who knows? Maybe there will be a companion piece rated NC-17 somewhere down the line;-)

I bet they're going to have a very nice celebration. :)

I like that you were realistic about how the thymoma could still come back, but that they are going to view their time together now as a gift.

Thanks for reading and commenting!

I try to be as realistic in my fics as possible unless I say otherwise. My Dad died from ALL so I take the subject seriously. Life is unpredictable; one moment your going for a walk, full of life and the next a truck speeds through the crosswalk and hits you, killing you. Completely unpredictable and random. So in a way, each day we live is a gift. Carpe diem!

I’m saddened to know that a man with your gift will no longer be able to use it
That I think was the worst part of the finale to me. Wilson, as House points out, is worthy this and any sacrifice, but it shouldn't have been necessary at all.

And this was a wonderful conclusion. The cancer may well come back, but you already gave both of them much more than canon did (in every sense).

Thank you so much.

I just wish that if the writer's were set on having House go back to prison they would have made it for a reason less ridiculous than for flushing tickets down a toilet. If doing that is going to destroy a hospital's plumbing then House was doing the hospital a favor by pointing out how badly their system needed an overhaul! They could have caught him for leaving the State with Wilson in Post-Mortem or for having a gun in his possession while on parole or what have you--much more serious breaches of his parole agreement than a backed up toilet! Any decent lawyer would have been able to poke holes in the case against House and easily establish enough counter-evidence for reasonable doubt. So, yes, the fact that House had to fake his death to be with Wilson was ridiculous and a travesty. End rant.

My thoughts exactly. He didn't intend for ceilings to collapse and water to flood an MRI machine. That part of the prank was an accident.

Lovely epilogue. Wilson's in remission and the future is looking good!

A sweet end for the fic, and very life-affirming. I liked this a lot--both this epilogue and the previous piece.
