What a lovely evening.
Jess and I went next door to Lauren's apartment for a barbeque in her little courtyard/patio area. It was good people and good food. Jess made vegan potato salad which was delicious, as always, and there were plenty of veggie burgers and veggie kabobs.
In Lauren's apartment complex there's this unit that we're able to see from Jessica's window and we used to watch the lesbos that lived there. But they moved out about a week ago, so Lauren's landlord opened it up for us to watch the fireworks out of (because it has a tremendous view). So it was us and this big Korean family in a little loft apartment. It was so wonderful. We had a full veiw of the dueling fireworks in the Puget Sound. From Downtown to Queen Anne to a tiny bit of Bremerton and Lake Union.
ps. the Puget Sound/Space Needle fireworks totally got it's ass kicked this year.
I think I have mosquito bites, and my nose is peeling. I finally bought some sunscreen, though.
I love summertime in Seattle. We've been spending so many weekends just walking for miles between all of the little surrounding neighborhoods. Yesterday we ended up in Fremont and sat by the river for a long time, just watching the bridge go up and down to let oversized yachts through. And eating soy ice cream. And socializing with Canadian Geese.
I have a new theme of paintings brewing that I need to start.
Other than that, same old same old. Cooking, baking, doodling, reading, sleeping and walking. So much walking.
