wow, long time

Yikes, I don't think I've really posted in this in about..9 months, I suppose it's about time. Well in that time, I was living in Plattsburgh and working at Family Dollar which sucked but paid the bills. In that time, I decided I really need to go to grad school so I can not work retail for the rest of my life. After applying I found I didn't quite fulfill the requirements, so I've been working toward fulfilling those. I took my LAST and CST in English, which I need for the teaching program, as well as a writing class here in Plattsburgh.

I also needed an American Lit course, but there wasn't one offered at Plattsburgh during the summer, so since I had family down on Long Island I figured I'd get it out of the way and take a class down at Stony Brook. So at the beginning of July I went down and took an Immigrant Literature class. Obviously I let work know I was going to be leaving and my manager told me that he can keep me on the payroll for two months so when I come back in September I should be able to just go right back to my job. Well I called about 2 weeks before I came back up and apparently the District Manager came by and made him take me off the payroll because there were too many people on there. Well great. So now I'm out of a job and have to go through the oh so fun job hunting process. If anyone does know if anyone is hiring, please let me know, it could make this much easier.

Buuut..in much better, not terrible news, last weekend I went with Justin in Travis all the way to Chicago to see on of my favorite bands, Small Brown Bike, play a reunion show. It took about a 15 hour car trip both ways but it was worth it. They played two amazing shows and I got to see Chicago. After the cut are a few pictures I took on my camera from the trip, and there's lots more over at Justin's LJ (justanact).
