schemes & plots for 2013 successes without comment:
- complete an olympic distance triathlon
- complete a half marathon (21.1km)
- do at least 1 or 2 more rail trail weekend trips
- enjoy some kind of 30 related celebration
- put max deposit into FHSA again
- maintain my friends & pantsfriends relationships at similar levels (to now)
- keep studying Spanish
- keep turning the wheels at work
- go to a few techy events to keep in the loop (like LCA, PyCon)
[aspirational]
- moar pantsfriends sexy fun times.
Lots of "keep ticking along".
failures without comment:
- keep a jar/box that I fill with notes of random things I am grateful for throughout the year.
- running: get 5K time to 25:00 or 10K time to 55:00
- do some regular pilates/yoga/similar
- do some more things like camping/hippies/folk music.
- try to do things to connect to communtity in St Kilda.
- set up recurring charitable donations as suggested by The Life You Can Save.
[aspirational]
- trip to Sydney to visit people + ocean swim
- go to some music festival, see more live music in general
- fix up state of websites.
- do a meditation course + regularly practice meditation
- plan a trip to a Spanish speaking country
25:00, lolwhut. still strugging to cleanly break 28:00!
mixed results:
- keep training throughout winter - use my road bike at least once a week!
I definitely did more cycling than last winter, but that's not saying a great deal. I was pretty good with running. I guess it's slow progress.
- go to the dentist and not have to get any new fillings
I went twice, and I think the first time I had to get a couple of fillings. :( But the second time I didn't!
- foster animals. take advantage of the opportunity of my house to care for dogs!
I was putting the wheels in motion for this, but then I moved house!
- find ways to be political (take political actions) - at a minimum, continue on 3CR web team.
Well, I stayed on the web team, but the web team has really fizzled, so I haven't really done anything. So only a technical pass, spiritual fail.
- visit Rockhampton (+M&D) around winter
I visited but failed on the winter part which was my bad - so this is a pass.
Here is my favourite selfie of the year:
