Like I said, I'd post pictures of the baby sweater when it was all done. Well it is!! I ran it through the washing machine and dryer to test how it would hold up to "baby wear and tear." It did really well. There's a small puckering in the bottom of one of the sleeves (you can kind of see it in the pictures), but nothing to make it unwearable or less pretty. I tried to block it out, but it's acrylic, and as we all know, acrylic doesn't block! Still, I'm very proud of this, and I wish I hadn't promised it away. (Oh, only mistake I made was miscounting the button hole placements...the top two ones are very close together, with the bottom one properly spaced out. Whoops!)
Pattern:
Daisy from Knitty, without hood or embellishments
Yarn: 1 skein
Sirdar Supersoft Toddler Aran in color 862 (seafoam green...or Putty as the manufacturer calls it)
Time: exactly 7 days (which is pretty awesome for me!!)
Model: Tootsie (my look-alike doll that my aunt made for me...she's 24 years old now...antique handsewn doll? Anyway, she was given my nickname for her own.)
And while I was waiting for the sweater to dry, I was able to churn out this Mason-Dixon (or Peaches 'n Cream) Ballband Dishcloth, courtesy of
Jenny, who so kindly shared the pattern with me. I took her advice and chose two colors that match, but not exactly. It really helped the yellow "brickwork" to stand out more.
Pattern:
