For the first time, yarn is causing me stress. I have massive amounts of yarn. So much that I'm seriously feeling guilty for every new skein I bring into this house. Yet, this doesn't stop me from buying and hording yarn! (I have 2 overloaded 50-gallon rubbermaid bins, 4 massive baskets for current yarns & books, and now 3 new bags of yarn that have yet to find a home.) And I will soon be bringing more yarn into my home...
I promised
random_slinky that I would make washclothes to donate for an auction her boyfriend is participating in. She got me the yarn, I just have to knit up the clothes. I have 1 of 3 done. I have all the petals for the second one done (they're being done in the shape of a flower), but the idea of putting them on dpn's is keeping me from finishing it at this point. I only have one more week. This shouldn't be a problem by itself.
Remember I said I'm teaching crochet now? This is where the new yarn comes in. I'm going to the shop tomorrow, and I can pick up ANY YARN I WANT, as long as I can crochet some sort of sample piece out of it. Then I take it back, they display it, and then I get it back. So I'm totally going for nice yarn that I normally wouldn't buy cuz it's a little weird. Yet, it still has to be easy enough to handle so that my beginners will want to tackle it. Unfortunately, they don't have a lot of yarns that I particularly like. They have a lot of feltable pure wools (which means rough yarns because they felt better) and acrylic mixes (which scare me...not a big acrylic fan).
I'm also taking the Fair Isle class. I have the yarn, started the bottom of the hat, but the class is Tuesday night and then I know I'm not going to want to put the project down. Hopefully the 3 hour class will have me near finished on the hat.
And I haven't finished my MIL's mittens yet. I gave her one, so I really should finish the second one, don't you think? But, like I said, I hate the way acrylic yarns feel on my hands, and I just had to make it out of acrylic so that she can machine wash them as she plans to use them as stable gloves. Argh...it's going to take a lot of determination to finish those gloves...
I'm feeling a bit stressed over yarn...this is a first!
