I'm still here!
My due date officially ends in 4 hours and 20 minutes, and I really don't think I can pop a baby out in that amount of time. As
Jenny helped me realize, it's more of a "maybe date" anyway. Full term is really anytime between 38 and 42 weeks, so it's more accurate to say a woman has a due month than a due date. It's really frustrating to have put so much stock into a single day. I should have known better considering my scientific nature.
Things that are really getting on my nerves:
1) Comments from EVERYONE on why am I still at work, why haven't I popped, and suggestions on how to jump start labor on my own.
2) Starting every phone conversation with "No, I haven't had the baby yet. I'm just calling because..."
3) Not being able to sleep for more than 3 hours at a time. I have wake up to roll over. It's just that much work!
4) People touching me!!! My belly! My belly! My belly!!!
5) My hips being so sore. It takes me 5-6 steps for them to warm up so that I can walk without waddling.
6) Being so big now that my maternity clothes don't fit the belly, but being too close to the end to make it worth getting a larger size.
7) The baby...literally... he's pushing on my nerves and causing excruciating pain in my legs!!
8) Not knowing exactly when I'll go into labor. I hate surprises!!
Things I'm loving:
1) Still having a fabulous excuse to eat loads of ice cream.
2) I can still guilt Chris into doing things for me.
3) I still have a clean house!
4) I still have my personal space heater in the belly!
Today we went to the jewelry store because I finally decided that I wanted my engagement, wedding, and anniversary bands sautered together to make one ring. I was so tired of them slipping in different directions. All three bands were bought at different stores, so I was expecting to pay a bit more than normal for that. However, it didn't cost us a dime and since the jeweler was in, it only took 2 hours until I got my ring back! This was the store that we got my anniversary band from, and we were very happy with the customer service then. So I know where we'll go back to for every other jewelry purchase!!
I've picked up knitting on the baptismal gown again. I'm looking to schedule the baptism the week after Easter. Per my grandmother's request, we'll be waiting until Lent is over to celebrate. (My grandmother is the matriarch of our family, and you try very hard not to upset her.) Traditionally, new Christians were baptized Easter Saturday, but since our Saturday services only have 10 attendees, I'd like to do the baptism on a Sunday in order to share with the majority of the congregation. So the "to be finished by" date is April 19th. That includes blocking time! No pictures yet though. I'm working on the longest chart right now. But soon!
