Do Fortune Cookies lie?
When Chris and I were dating about 3 months, he went on a music tour to Brazil. While he was gone, I came to the realization that this relationship was going to be different. I was completely me with him, and I missed him more than any normal person should miss a "fling." I knew that when he came back I was ready to tell him that I loved him. I don't remember how exactly it all came about, but I did tell him that I loved him the next time we got together. Afterwards, we went to our favorite Chinese restaurant for dinner. When we got our fortune cookies, they had identical fortunes:
"Your friendship will develop into something more valuable and true."
I've kept those strips of paper through all these years. Obviously, they were right!
One of Chris' coworkers is really into celebrating holidays, so she brought in a giant tub of fortune cookies for the Chinese New Year. Chris brought two cookies home yesterday, and we had them after dinner last night. Again, they had identical fortunes:
"Tomorrow will bring excitement and joy to your life."
If history should repeat itself, I should be going into labor today! But nothing yet, besides the 2 contractions I had this morning. That seems to be a regular occurance now though. 1-2 hours of real contractions (not Braxton-Hicks anymore!), but still irregular and they always go away. Really annoying. All this hype about a baby is starting to get really old. He better come soon or I'll give up!
