Title: Target
Summary: "The one person Julie possibly hates is also the one that knows more about what's inside her than Julie herself knows. -- The Pursuit of Diana
Timeline: Nothing specific. Hell, nothing at all. Let's call it a 'what if'.
Note 1: I blame this and every other messed up Julie story i've written or will write on The Pursuit of Diana.
Note 2: Thank you, book.
Disclaimer: I do not own any of these characters. The characters belong to Kenneth Johnson and Warner Brothers. The book is by Allen Wold.

The months after Julie lost Mike were the darkest for her. Robert
would try to bring her out of her funk, but nothing worked. She
continued her role, she never faltered in her leadership but everyone could see she was slipping away.

She'd like to think that the reappearance of Diana only contributed somewhat to her reawakening.

When she heard that Diana had returned to LA a flicker of something old and volatile flared up in her. Juliet Parrish is supposed to be the epitome of all that is good' and pure. She knows that's what they think of her, which is why shes never let them see the ugliness within her. The thought of facing Diana, the thought of hurting her made her happier than anything had in years. She'd felt like she was fighting these
invisible monsters that never died, no matter how many times you shot
or blew them up.

But with Diana, she has a target. Someone visible to go after.
Someone who had taken pleasure in inserting themselves into her life.
Who'd taken pleasure in torturing her. Julie knows Diana can't control her and shes pretty sure Diana knows too, but that damn connection is still there. That nightmare with the lizard chasing her and Diana being her savior still haunts her. The fact that Diana knows more about her than Julie has ever let anyone see is something that used to keep her up at night. Julie knows she was mindfucked in the worse way by Diana, and its just another thing that drives her to seek out the lizard and attempt to destroy her.

She knows its all a sick twisted game with them. Though she doesn't doubt that they would kill each other if they had the chance. Julie assumes Diana feels the same way she does. She likes to believe that if she kills Diana, if she destroys this one lizard that it will
all end. Life will go back to normal. No more occupation, no more
terror. Diana, she thinks, probably likes to imagine that if she kills Julie the resistance will die with her. Both are good fantasies, though none is correct. This war is bigger than them, and there will always be somebody to step in their boots, but for now Julie feels alive again. For now, Julie and Diana will continue their game.

Title: Obsession
Rating: T
Summary: Julie has fallen.
Timeline: After Diana returns in the TV show.
Disclaimer: I do not own any of these characters. The characters belong to Kenneth Johnson and Warner Brothers.

She's always in her head: taunting her, laughing at her, playing with her.

Diana consumes her.

Julie doesn't sleep anymore. She tries to stay awake as much as possible. The nightmares don't end when she sleeps. Diana knows how to keep her trapped there. Julie can hear the laughter, the coaxing to betray everything she believes...and sometimes Julie wants to give in.

Somewhere in the world the lizard hovers, torturing people and enjoying it, while down on earth Julie slowly shatters. She has stepped down as the resistance leader. She cannot lead if she can't think straight, and right now Julie can't focus on anything but Diana and her laughter. Her world has become a fog. Insomnia has made her into another person. She has gone into the shadows, slowly disappearing, until she leaves the resistance entirely. She stays alone for weeks, finally deciding to find Diana and end this.

This is how Julie disappears. She tracks Diana's movements, trying to find a pattern, some sort of weak spot. She is unfocused in most of what she does, but in this she is as sharp as she used to be.

She's found her more than once, coming near her only twice. She's aimed her gun, fired, and hit her. The blood has spilled, green like her heart. Diana has escaped both times. Julie has become increasingly obsessed. She can barely recognize herself in the mirror. She is torn on the inside. The scars on her body cannot reflect the amount of tear that her mind and heart have experienced. She has been shot, stabbed, run over. She lives now, as Diana does, and she wonders why. She stares up at the yellow stained ceilings of motels whose names she will never remember and she wonders what the point is. The war continues, Diana still converts, humanity is falling and all she does is chase this one lizard. Julie has no contact with her LA crew. She is a nameless, faceless, broken woman who people don't stare twice at. She remembers Ruby telling her she was a born leader, telling her to fake it if she didn't feel it. She remembers all the nights she forced herself to not cry, forced herself to feel like a leader. Julie is stone now. No tears escape her eyes.

Ruby would be disappointed.
