A nice sarcastic article on the outcome of the RU486 debate.
Incidentally, I think the whole thing was a bit of a no-brainer. Yes, I can see why people have ethical questions about abortion itself. But all those male politicians talking about how they're only concerned for women's safety? (Cos, you know, pregnancy has no health risks whatsoever.) And somehow I don't think that the Health Minister is likely to have a better grasp of the relative risks than the specialists at the Therapeutic Goods Administration and the woman's own doctor. *sigh* Oh well. Thank Goddess the bill actually passed.
