Alright, to start off... spoilers and laptops

For those of you who don't know me, sorry, but I'm too lazy to put up a description

To summarize at the beginning, I hate spoilers (I shall not ruin anything for anyone as others have for me, so no need to fear). I don't mean the kind where they stop and tell the uninitiated to leave, I mean the kind where there's absolutely no warning.

I've had this happen three times now. Trigun, Harry Potter, and Dr. Who.

With Trigun, well, let's just say that was how I learned about spoiler tags (how was I to know that blacking out text meant that you shouldn't look?).
With Harry Potter, all I was trying to do was find out which store would have the best price when the sixth book came out. All the price comparison sites refer to online stores, and I prefer to get my stuff the old-fashioned way (most of the time). So I figured I'd check on the forums. Seemed logical at the time. How was I to know that some idiots had looked at the book in advance and were screaming out information to get attention?
With Doctor Who, I was merely trying to find out the quality of one of the episodes, and someone had posted in the comments that it was a shame about one of the characters.

All it takes is one glance. One freaking glance, and things are different. Not ruined, per se, but different. You look at characters in another light, and when the event does happen, it's stripped of its emotion.

Spoilers suck.

Anyhoo, on to newer and brighter seas! I have a laptop, and I didn't have to pay for it *hugs laptop*

The person that I'm doing a commission for had some extras, and offered me one. This was completely unexpected, but not unwelcome. I had made plans to get a laptop, but not for a few years, at the very least. I need to move out. That is my goal at this time, and that is where my money is being focused right now. As such, I appreciate getting one even more, because it saves me the trouble of having to get one later.

Still need to get XP on it and work out the wireless details, but that can wait.

Just finished: His Dark Materials trilogy
Currently reading: Lyra's Oxford, Cerebus: Jaka's Story, the Chrestomanci series (I'm on the second one), House of Leaves. I tend to multitask in my reading
