I need my care free days

Jun 10, 2010 20:56

Its been really x 100 long time since i actually typed on this thing. I'm even abit confused and forgot how to use this thing. But i felt today's the day to update after being away.

31st may. Day one. They were late for a few minutes. At the back of my head, i was hoping they would cancel. But its impossible. They came anyway. It rained all day and they had to cut short the excercise

11pm. Sent a cadet to the hospital. It was only the second day. From high fever to pneumonia. Slept for 2 hours in the hospital and stayed awake for the whole night.

Wing commander payed a visit the next day. Hopped onto his car and back to tekong. Board the ferry with 7 or so high ranking big shots. Outcasted cause i got nothing to show accept for my medic arm band (which i'm proud of).

Spent the next couple of nights at the training shed, code named, Yankee 34. They dug their shell scrape. It was the first time i seen a wild boar.

Day 6 or so, i felt sick. Homesick. Couldn't get a signal in the forest to contact the people at home

As the days pass, acquaintances turn to friends. Even the superiors are cool with us.

Plasters, bandages, gauze, opsites, calomol lotion were on demand. Heat rash and blisters were the culprit. A couple of sprain ankles and physical exhaustion , i took care of them all.

We ended with a BBQ, and a friend sewn his torn pants together with his underwear haha! epic!

At the end of it all i guess i learn one thing the most. The art of patience. But most of the time I'll be sleeping in between a crossfire ambush attack.

Next stop Taiwan. 21 days.
